Scott Pinkmountain has released dozens of albums as a songwriter, composer and improviser over the span of 25 years. His work spans a broad spectrum from roots songwriting to avant-garde free jazz, and from stripped-down DIY cassette recordings to multi-orchestra studio productions.

 

Pinkmountain has taught songwriting on the university level and in private workshop and has worked as a Music Analyst for Pandora for more than 16 years, carefully dissecting and examining nearly 200,000 songs.

 

As a writer and podcaster, Pinkmountain has interviewed dozens of renowned artists and songwriters, engaging them in in-depth discussions about their creative practice.

He holds a BA in Music (Wesleyan University), an MA in Music Composition (Mills College) and an MFA in Creative Writing (University of Wyoming).
